to enroll RAK346 History and Theory in Architecture 2 (Core Course). Failure
to pass this RAK344 course will affect your graduation year.
Synopsis:
This course emphasis
is on history and theory in architecture divided into two categories: (1). Architectural
history; and (2). Architectural theory. The
course objectives are:
1.
To
understand architecture from Egyptian to Renaissance (before modern period) using
‘Timeline Context with Architectural Chronology’ which emphasises on
architecture in Europe, Middle East, Africa, India, China and South East Asia
2.
To
understand history and theory in architecture, and the evolution which
influences our contemporary architecture
3.
By
understanding history and theory in architecture, the students are able to
integrate knowledge of architectural history and theory to the architecture design
studio
Time: Tuesday: 2:15 – 5.00 pm (Lecture 2 hours)

RemarkS:
·
Students with bad record attendance/not submit the
assignments in this core course will be ‘barred’ from the final examination.
·
Assignment marks will be deducted 10% marks penalty for
each absence or 3-7% marks due to late attendance counted on the weekly lecture
basis.
·
Assignment marks will be deducted 5-10% marks penalty-making
noise, disturbance, talking and sleeping after the first warning by the
lecturer during the lecture counted on the weekly lecture basis.
·

(with logic reason) to the lecturer’s in-charge within 2 weeks before/after
each lecture
